SERVICE HELD FOR RHODA SIBBETT
Services were held at the Soda Springs Hooper LDS Church , Tuesday, Jan. 17, for Rhoda S Sibbett, former resident of Grays Lake .
Bishop Reed Humphreys conducted the services. Family prayer was given by grandson Elray Muir, invocation by nephew Bill Muir, benediction by daughter-in-law Lucy Muir, and dedication of the grave by grandson Todd Muir.
Speakers were Eldean Muir, Derrel Muir, Odell Stoor, Ewart Muir and Bishop Humphreys. A guitar and vocal solo was rendered by Eugene Sibbett and a violin solo by Teresa Stoor. Arlene Torgesen played the prelude and postlude music.
Mrs. Muir was born Aug. 10, 19 04 to Ephriam and Annie Maria Sneider, the third child in a family of 10. They moved to Grays Lake when Rhoda was 10. She married Clarence H Muir July 1923 in the Logan LDS Temple . He died July 26, 19 46 and she married Kenneth Sibbett Aug. 18, 19 51.
Mrs. Sibbett was an excellent cook, and cooked at the Wayan school for many years. Her home and yard were always a showplace. She enjoyed handiwork and taxidermy work.
She was an active member of the LDS church and served in various capacities including chorister and organist for many years, custodian, Sunday School teacher and Relief Society president.
She moved to West Valley City 14 years ago, where she was living at the time of her death. She died Jan. 13 at her home there.
She is survived by three sons, Derrel G. Muir, Centerville , Utah , Merlyn "John" Muir, West Valley City , Utah , and Gay W. Muir, Kearns , Utah , 17 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by her two husbands, a son Clarence Ephriam, two sisters and four brothers.
