Aubrey L. Stiers, 69, died Friday, Dec. 23 in a nursing home in Springfield, Ill. He was born March 15, 1914, the son of Alexander and Malvina Stiers. He was married to Myrtle Benskin. Survivors include five sons, Jerry Stiers of Fulton, Raymond of Tempe, Ariz., Glenn of Las Vegas, Nev., Lloyd of Fulton, and Roy of Fulton; two daughters, Doris McFarland of St. Charles, Mo., and Delores Martin of Fulton; four sisters, Margaret Kleindienst of Hermann, Mo., and Lottie Geringer, Lucille Zeugin, Jeannette Livingston, all of Granite City, Ill.; one brother, Cecil Stiers of University City, Mo.; one half-brother, Bill Stiers of Fulton; and one half-sister, Edith Wolfmeier of Fulton. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Aubrey Stiers served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 29 at 11 a.m. at Bisch Funeral Home in Springfield, Ill. Burial will be in Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
