Funeral services for James Theodore (Ted) Andersen 70, of rural St. Charles were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 9, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery with Rev. David Livingston officiating. Mr. Andersen died Tuesday, February 6 at his home.

The son of Nels and Sophie Christensen Andersen, Mr. Andersen was born on January 15, 1909 at Brayton, Iowa. He was married to Mabel German, who preceded him in death in Des Moines in April of 1947. A farmer and lifetime resident at St. Charles, he retired in 1965.

Survivors include three sisters, Anna Taylor of Denver, Colo., Elma Fitzgerald of Des Moines and Clara Brittain of Winterset and a sister-in-law, Mildred German of Des Moines. He was preceded death by his parents and a brother.
