John "Jay" Warren Southard, 63, died Friday, March 28, 2008, in Fort Worth.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill.
Jay was born Dec. 27, 1944, in Fort Worth to Bill and Deloris Southard. He grew up on the east side of Fort Worth, and graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1963. He worked for the City of Fort Worth Police Department for 40 years in the communications division.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, William R. Southard.
Survivors: Wife of 37 years, Deborah; mother, Deloris Southard; brother, David of Alvarado; special nieces and nephews, Brandon, Ken, Tina, Mindy; and goddaughter, Christy.
