Sharpsburg - Oct 28, 1946 - Oct 3, 2021 James Wesley Albritton, 74, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, while on a golf trip with his buddies in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He was born on October 28, 1946 in Tampa, FL to the late Alfred and Mildred Albritton.
James was a 1964 graduate of High Point High School.
He enlisted in the Army in 1966 and transitioned to the Army Reserve where he achieved Green Beret status and was a Sharpshooter and Instructor. He retired his military service with the Army Reserve in 1983.
Jim worked for the State of Maryland Roads Department then on to several construction companies prior to working at Bechtel. He then spent the last 17 years of employment with PCI Consultants as a Field Engineer prior to his retirement in 2012.
After retiring from PCI Consultants, he devoted his time to his home and wife and loved his weekly golf games with his dearest friends Eddie "Bugs" Bender, Jeff Starliper, Jeff Swain, and many others. Golf was his passion.
He wasn't one for fluff or sentiment, but he loved his family and friends deeply and enjoyed spending time with them.
He was a member of Sharpsburg Church of the Brethren in Sharpsburg, MD.
Another of Jim's true loves were his Boston Terriers, Trey and Charlie. He was so very happy to have them in his life as comic relief and constant companions.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 55 years Joan Darlene Albrittion; daughter Kathy Gustafson and her husband Bryan and two grandchildren Jack and Madeline Gustafson; daughter Terri Albritton and granddaughter Grace Albritton; sister Judy Lapole and her husband Eric; sister Keech (Jeneice) Triggs; 4 nieces and nephews; 7 great nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal funeral.
