Lila Ann Henson Hampton died on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. Lila Hampton was a native of Cranberry, North Carolina and the daughter of the late John Henry Henson and Esther Bell Mayberry Henson.

Lila was of the Holiness faith. She devoted her life to serving her Lord and Savior. Her journey is now complete and she is in His presence. Lila Hampton was a retired employee of Carter County Schools as well as Roan Mountain State Park. She enjoyed her years of working with students at Cloudland Elementary School. She loved all of her students at Cloudland and she left a lasting impact on her students and co workers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; and her son, William "Little Bill" Hampton, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Wade Hampton of Roan Mountain; Amanda Shook and husband Tim Black of Roan Mountain; grandson, Eligha and wife Lexi Hampton; and a special great granddaughter, Lilly Nyoka Rose Hampton; Damian Black, Harlee Black, her little man, JJ Black, Richard Bowman, Cierra Young; several great grandchildren; and her trusty sidekick- Champ, her dog.

A private graveside to honor Lila Ann Henson Hampton's life will be conducted in the Hampton Orr Cemetery in Roan Mountain at a later date.
