Born Erraroohey Beg, Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal, Ireland (parents Owen and Grace)and he's listed in both the 1901 and 1911 Ireland Census records. At the time of his enlistment with Canadian Expeditionary Forces in 1918, he'd been living in Whitehorse, Yukon and working as a miner. He later partnered in mining companies in the Yukon


WW 1 Veteran, Private, Canadian Army service number 2140313. He served in Canada with the 2nd Depot Battalion, British Columbia Regiment, CEF.
