Paul A. Nadeau, Jr., age 69 of Mattapoisett, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 17, 2023 at Brigham & Woman's Hospital with his loving family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Janet (Thomas) Nadeau. Paul was born in Middleboro, MA, the son of the late Paul and Beatrice (Greene) Nadeau, Sr.

Paul was a proud Navy Veteran who served for 10 years.

Paul worked for Brown University for 20 years, InControl (Warwick, RI) for 16 years, retiring in 2020. Never wanting to be idle, Paul accepted a position with the Mansfield Public Schools in Facilities Management. His favorite part of this job was helping the teachers and students feel comfortable and safe in their learning environment.

Paul never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone at anytime. He loved music, playing his guitars, building Legos, working on cars, riding his motorcycle, and fishing. A lover of animals, Paul enjoyed feeding the backyard wildlife. He was overly protective of his family, a strong confidant to his children, and a "partner in crime" with his grandchildren and grandpups. To unwind, Paul could be found watching Jurassic Park on an endless loop.

In addition to his beloved wife Janet of over 49 years, he is survived by his loving family; his daughter Kelley Hunt, her husband Daniel and their children Olivia and Chloe of New Bedford; his son Jon Nadeau, fiancée Lisa Cushing and their puppies Sadie and Clara of Wareham; his brother Robert Nadeau and his wife Sharon of Taunton; his sister-in-law Bonnie (Sadlier) Nadeau of Dighton, wife of the late Mark Nadeau, who passed away July 5th, 2022.

A special thank you to the medical and support staff at Dana Farber, Brigham & Women's Hospital, and Community Nurse Home Care, who provided exceptional care throughout his journey.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 2 to 5pm in the Chapel of the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary's Square) Taunton, MA 02780. Interment with military honors will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne MA.
