She was born on Jan. 16, 1941, in Heilbronn, Germany, to Herman Wilhelm and Elsa Karoline (Wieland) Rohrbach.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Richard) Burchfield; her son, Steven Dietzel; and her three grandchildren, Haley (Dylan) Eckelbarger, Tyler Dietzel and Lindsay Burchfield.
Her son, Henry L Dietzel Jr., preceded her in death. Omi was a loving and loyal best friend to all her family members.
Ursula was an extremely hardworking woman who owned and operated Hoosier Wholesale, a successful party goods store in Kokomo, Indiana, for many years. During this time, she established an extended family of co-workers and friends. Ursula also had a great appreciation for travelling. She arranged many tours of Europe so others could experience the wonders of Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Hungary and her beloved Germany. Her passion for business and travel were only exceeded by her unwavering love for spending time with her family.
Family will receive friends at a celebration of life on Wednesday, July 12, from 4-7 p.m. at the Elliott House, 1200 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo, Indiana. Please wear cheerful attire and bring your favorite stories and memories to share. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Ursula's honor be made to the charity of your choice.
We, as a family, are devastated at her sudden passing; however, we are tremendously proud of Ursula's life achievements. We know that her generosity, sense of humor and feisty German spunk was known and loved by many. Rest in peace, dear Omi. You will be forever missed and forever loved.
