Roy Eugene Barnett, age 75, husband of Geraldine Barnett of London, Kentucky won his race and took his final journey home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Roy was born December 15, 1947 in Ripley, Virginia to the late Perry Eugene and Hazel Ora (Rhodes) Barnett.
Roy proudly served in the U.S. Army. He served two tours in Vietnam as a Sargent that ended with an honorable discharge receiving two purple hearts on July 2, 1972. After the military, Roy continued his career as a general laborer before he began his career in law enforcement in Temple, Georgia. It was then that he met his wife of 48 hears, Geraldine. They began the business of Barnett's Drywall, Inc. in Temple, Georgia, where he was owner/operator of the family company. Roy also was an associate Pastor in Goshen, Indiana and in Temple, Georgia until he began at Redemption Christian Center in Villa Rica, Georgia.
Roy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Geraldine Barnett along with his daughters, Sheri Toth of East Bernstadt, Kentucky and Brenda Wilson of Elkhart, Indiana; his grandchildren, Zack, Devin, Briana, Abby, Cadyn, and Ezlana; and his siblings Perry Barnett and Betty Smith, both of West Virginia.

Funeral services for Roy Eugene Barnett will be conducted Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2:00pm at London Funeral Home Chapel with Stan Rutland officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be: Zack Hodges, TJ Pace, Benji Gilpin, Bennie W. Johnson, Jim Coonrod, and Nathan Gilpin.
