She was educated in the Philadelphia school system where she graduated from Bartram High School in 1984. Rhonda was a social butterfly and made many meaningful friendships that turned out to last her entire lifetime. She had a knack for cosmetology which she briefly attended school for. Rhonda later became an ambitious, hard-working woman in the field of customer service. She would then spend her years out of high school on the go, traveling and enjoying her youth. In 1994 she met her husband Mark Yancey which they later conceived one child, their daughter Markia.
Rhonda was a family woman who everybody knew they could call when they needed advice, someone to listen or even just a good laugh. She was looked up to by many and was a fierce protector of her family and friends. Though she had one child she still treated any child she welcomed into her home as her own with many nieces and nephews that she loved and cared for, even her daughter's friends were considered her children in her eyes. Rhonda although loving she was also known for her straightforward methods on giving tough love, she was honest and didn't hold back what she thought and felt. Many valued this quality in her and admired her strength.
Rhonda loved holidays, especially Christmas, every year she would be excited to decorate and put up a Christmas tree. She loved to sing and was gifted at it, one of her favorite songs was "Deja-vu" by Teena Marie; she loved to sing with her husband and daughter, and she supported her daughter's interest in singing by teaching her and encouraging her to join the school choir. Rhonda was a fan of rom-com movies and sit-coms. She often enjoyed going out to movies theatres and was always ready to see the latest films in theatres.
Rhonda leaves to mourn her daughter; Markia, her granddaughter; Belle, her mother; Barbara, her two siblings Donna and Monica and a whole lot of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
