The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Smith-Lund-Mills Chapel in Cottage Grove for Alethea Langham "Ruth" Jackson of La Pine, formerly of Cottage Grove, who died March 26 in a traffic accident. She was 68. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, March 31, at the chapel.

She was born July 29, 1939, in Morton, Texas, to Elzie and Martelie Echols Langham. She married Joseph Jackson on April 30, 1960, in Farmersville, Calif.

She was a member of the first graduating class of Redwood High School in Visalia, Calif., in 1957. She was an Avon and Tupperware representative in Cottage Grove and was later an administrative assistant for the Tulare Housing Authority in Visalia, Calif.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Jeffery Jackson of Visalia, Calif.; a daughter, Aloma Jackson of La Pine; a step-daughter, Lynn Rougeau of Haughton, La.; four sisters, Joyce Richardson of Farmington, N.M., Clara Black and Melba Kokko, both of Cottage Grove, and Reba Kokotan of Springfield; two brothers, Wendell Langham and Mo Langham, both of Cottage Grove; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Private burial will be held at Comstock Cemetery in Curtin. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
