Obituary from flammfh.com:
Shirley Vilate Yancey, lifelong resident of St. Anthony, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on July 13, 2023.
Shirley was born on January 23, 1934, to Rulon and Virginia Rigby. She was born and raised in Parker, Idaho and had very fond memories of her childhood and created many lifelong friends there.
Shirley graduated from South Fremont High School in 1952, and in that same year married the love of her life, Boyd Yancey, on August 22. Together they had three children, sons, Colin (Angela) Yancey, Trent (Leanne) Yancey, and daughter, Hali (Chad) Mackert. Their family grew to include 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Shirley was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.
You could always find Boyd and Shirley supporting any activity their kids, grandkids or great grandkids were involved in. She was very proud of her family and always said, "we have the best family". Boyd and Shirley loved traveling with family members, which included their extended Lindauer family.
Until this past year, you could find Shirley on her early morning walks with her beloved friend, Lana, which turned into a walking club with many cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd, parents, brothers, Eugene, Monte, and Larry Rigby, and sister, LaDell Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 18, 2023, at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery.
