A salesman with Louisiana Fish Fry and Tony's Seafood and resident and native of Baton Rouge. He died at 4pm Monday May 27, 1996 in a boating accident near Galvaz. He was 23. Visiting was held at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary 5-9pm Wednesday. Visiting at Bethany World Paryer Center, Baker 9am until religious services at 11am Thursday conducted by the Reverend Gordon Atwell. Interment in Bethany Church Cemetery. Survived by his mother and stepfather Gwen and Stan Brosssette, Baton Rouge father Gilbert "Gil" Whitney, Baker, maternal grandparents Ruth O'Callaghan Boyd and Davey Lee Walker both of Baton Rouge, paternal grandmother Ethel Marie Whitney, Baker, a daughter Alaina Brook Castro, Breaux Bridge and three sisters, Amber, Lendie and Danielle Brossette all of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by paternal grandfather Gilbert Edward Whitney, Jr.. Pallbearers will be Jay Cambre, Jeremy Vicknair, Kevin Garon, Keith Charrier, Jr., Eric Blalock and "J.J." Sharkey. Update: Gil Whitney died 3-15-99, Keith Charrier, Jr. died on 6-26-2001 and Ethel Marie Whitney died on 12-31-2003.
