Ms. Caroldean Jackson Allison, age 89, of Sandersville, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

A graveside funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Zeta Cemetery, Tennille, Ga. Reverend Maura Peavy will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ryan Veal, Jared Bass, Chris Peavy, Colby Wimpee, Nate Meadows and Dylan Randolph and honorary pallbearers; Brandon Smith, Timothy "Fish" Fowler and Jerome Bryan. Her family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Allison was born and reared in Harrison, the daughter of the late Stevie Clay Jackson and the late Mary Dell B. Jackson. She graduated from Tennille High School where she excelled in Basketball. She pursued a degree in nursing, until she became the Marine Corp. wife of Captain Robert C. Allison, Sr. and lived in numerous places throughout the United States. Mrs. Allison returned home and began a thirty plus year career in textile manufacturing, working for Washington Manufacturing Company in Tennille, and retiring from Forstmans in Louisville. She possessed a passion for flowers and working in her yards. She always kept a shovel in her car to aid in transplanting various plants back to her yard. She obtained much joy from distributing snacks and drinks from her snack basket to family and friends visiting her home. Ms. Allison loved her family and always said "remember Mama or Granny loves you" while waiving from her porch.

Survivors are, her children, Darleen A. Veal of Tennille, Arleen A. Peavy and her husband Ronnie of Warthen, Robert C. Allison, Jr. of Devereau and Mary Ann A. Bass of Warthen; grandchildren, Tonya Bowen (John), Christopher Scott Peavy (Maura), Amy V. Meadows (Kevin), Laura V. Williford, Ryan Veal (Megan), Jared Matthew Bass (Maggie), Tucker Ray Allison, and Elizabeth Dianne Bass (Dylan); great grandchildren, Savannah Grace Peavy, Kelsey M. Wimpee (Coby), Sydni Nicole Meadows (Andrew), Nathaniel Ryan Meadows, Allison Grace Williford, Heather Blake Williford, Abigail Elaine Veal, Madison Carol Veal and Lulabelle Gail Randolph; one great granddaughter, Raegan Alexis Vincent; and siblings, Charlotte Mashburn and Juanita Pittman. In addition to her parents, Ms. Allison is predeceased by her grandson R.C. Allison III and her brother Stevie Clay Jackson, Jr.

Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Washington County Regional Medical Center, Dr. Earl Taylor and her hospice nurse, Lynn McDonald.
