Services For Laura Higgins Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura A. Higgins, 71, who died Saturday at the Johnson County Memorial hospital, were held Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Henderson officiating. Burial was in Willow Grove cemetery with the Silver Rebekah Lodge No. 6 in charge. Friends may donate to the Odd-fellows World Eye Bank in care of the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Higgins was born on Dec. 5, 1898 in Montgomery County Mo., and moved to Colorado with her parents in a covered wagon when she was four years old. The family later moved to Hardin, Mont., and then homesteaded at Saco, Mont. She was married in 1915 in Strater, Mont., to Everett A. Higgins. They moved to Buffalo in 1924 and had lived here since that time. Her husband preceded her in death in 1964.
Mrs. Higgins was the past grand matriarch of Grand Ladies Encampment Auxiliary of Wyoming, president of the ladies auxiliary of the Canton Auxiliary, past noble grand of the Rebekahs, past oracle of the Royal Neighbors of America, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Klondike grange, Pomona grange, Wyoming State Grange, World War I Veterans Auxiliary, the Stitch and Chatter Sewing club and was also a member of the Congregational church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Martha Lowther of Buffalo, Vivian O'Connor of Oakdale, Calif., and Dorothy Holcombe of Hoodriver, Ore., one sister, Leecil Nix of Billings; two brothers, Lonnie Hoke of the U.S. Army and Arnold Hoke of Billings; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the services were Ray Clark, Harold Jones, Harry White, Stanley Rinker, Ralph Gossett and Henry McMullin.
