Arthur J. Bresnahan, Jr., 81, of East Dennis, MA. passed away on July 3rd. 2023 at Cape Cod Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on July 23, 1941 to Arthur J. Bresnahan Sr. and Elizabeth (Riel) Bresnahan. Arthur grew up in Shrewsbury, MA and was a 1959 graduate of Worcester Boy's Trade. At 17 years old, he took over his father's garage, Bresnahan's Service Station on Maple Ave in Shrewsbury and ran the business for the next 25 years. In 1963 he married his high school sweetheart, Joan C. Tetrault. Together they raised their family in Shrewsbury and Dennis, MA, where they owned a summer cottage rental business. Arthur also had his Real Estate Brokers License and Construction Supervisors License. With those, he built several Commercial Properties & invested in Real Estate, retiring at the age of 42.

Arthur served 2 years in the Army National Guard and was a Volunteer in the Shrewsbury Fire Dept. He was past President of both the Shrewsbury Lion's Club and Shrewsbury Jaycees, a long-time member of the Shrewsbury Sportsman's Club and involved in 4-H with his wife Joan who passed away in 1983.

Arthur enjoyed boating & fishing on Cape Cod Bay. Mostly he cherished time spent with friends and family. Whether it was working on antique cars or pitching horseshoes he was the center of attention. Everyone knew when Arthur was in the house. Spending most of his winters in Florida, he had many friends in Naples, Cape Coral and Pine Island.

He met Elizabeth (Bette) K. Miller who became his cherished life-partner for over thirty years.

In addition to his wife, Joan, Arthur was predeceased by his life partner, Bette, his parents, and brother, John Bresnahan.

He is survived by his son, Kevin and his wife Elaine of Worcester, daughter, Kathy Phipps and her husband Ben of Hartford, VT, grandchildren, Joshua Phipps, Matthew Phipps and Kacey Bresnahan. He also leaves his life partner's children Gerard Miller Jr., Susan Westgate, their families and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at his request and burial will be private.
