Carol Lee Olmsted, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Winston, Oregon, surrounded by her family and friends on July 16, 2023. Carol was born Sept. 4, 1946, at Mercy hospital in Roseburg, Oregon and then brought home to Myrtle Creek, Oregon to James and Mildred Bond. They stayed there through the end of junior high.


She attended Bonanza High School and after graduation, she moved to Washington and then relocated back to Winston, to begin working for Roseburg Forest Products for 20 plus years. This is where she met her husband, Richard Olmsted of 45 years.


Carol loved her family and had a joy for shopping for her grand kids. She also loved to do crafts and sell them, at one time it was hair clips with beads, another was clowns made from yarn and wire hangers, she would let her niece Brenda help her along with family friend Amy when they were young. There were many other crafts as well. And she loved the beany baby craze as well.


Carol is survived by her husband Richard, son Bill Bond (Angie), daughter Patty (Kenny Bellinger), grandchildren Susie McNew, Cassaundra Huffman, Nick Dukes, Tashina Dukes, Taylor Hamilton, Ashley Dukes, Tori Atterbury as well as 16 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.


Carol is predeceased by her parents, four brothers and one sister.


A celebration of life was held on Sept. 16, 2023, at the Winston Community Center at 5 p.m.


Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, she is loved and will be missed by all.
