Roger "Jesse" James, age 81, of Trempealeau, died Friday, May 19, 2023 at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, Wisconsin. Preceding him in death were
his parents, Russell and Ethel James; a sister, Maxine Frommelt and brothers, Rodney James , Robert Benson.

He was born July 24, 1941 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Russell and Ethel (Benson) James. Jesse attended La Crosse Logan High School prior to becoming a U.S. Army veteran from 1964 to 1966.

On April 20,1968 he married Sallymae Keeffe. He was employed as a truck driver
at various businesses, including Wilber Lime Company, Reserve Supply Company, RTL Transport and MBM Transport.

He was a past recipient of Trempealeau Lions Citizen of the Year, past president
of Trempealeau Youth Sports Club, a NASCAR fan and an avid follower of Trempealeau youth baseball teams, G-E-T baseball and G-E-T softball.

A brief prayer service will be Friday, May 26, 2023, 2:00 P.M. at Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville Chapel, Burial with military rites will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Trempealeau. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from
noon until service time.
