The Rev. Aaron J.T. Tucker, 74, of Empire, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. He served as pastor of Dora Second Baptist Church for 24 years. He retired from Alabama Power after 34 years. He also served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy. Funeral services will be Friday, May 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in New Canaan Cemetery. Visitation will be today, May 19, 2011 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethel Tucker; sisters, Emmaline Young, Mary Sue Nelson and Ailene (baby sister) Tucker. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Ann Tucker; children, Pamela Holt and husband, Norman, of Dora, Michael Aaron Tucker and wife, Brenda, and Patricia Martin and husband, John; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, Anna, Cameron, Caleb, Abby, Amy and Seth; great-grandchild, Hayleigh; brothers and sisters, W.L. Tucker of Bremen, Ila Mae Rouse of Sumiton, Levon Tucker of Panama City, Fla., Betty Ruth Bairrow of Warrior, Carolyn Lynn and Ervin Tucker of Atlanta, Ga.; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
