Nancy Phelps Taylor was the widow of Jonathan Taylor of Heath, Mass. She moved from Heath after his death and lived with her son Jonathan Hastings Taylor and his wife and children in the vicinity of Gouverneur until her death. Her son and his family subsequently emigrated to Prairie City, Illinois.
