He was born in Laurens County, a son of the late Charles Haskell and Margaret Dobbins Kirby. He was a sales representative for Astro Chemical of Fountain Inn, S.C., and a member of Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church. He was also a Mason.
Surviving are one son, Gary Kirby and wife, Angela, of Easley; grandchildren, Chaz, Camron, and Corey Kirby, all of Easley; a brother, Wayne Kirby and wife Nancy and children, Waynie and Sharon of Donalds, S.C.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
