John Clement Harlan was the son of Albert P. and Margaret A. (Campbell) Harlan. He married Daisy Oliver at Walla Walla, Washington on December 24, 1913.

"JOHN CLEMENT HARLAN

Services have been set for 2 p.m. Friday [October 22] afternoon at the Prineville Funeral Home for John Clem Harlan, 69, who died suddenly Culver [sic] Tuesday [October 19]. Rev. Laura Burdette will officiate and interment will be at the Masonic cemetery. [now part of Juniper Haven].

Born at Visalia, Calf., on March 31, 1885, he attended schools in California, coming to Central Oregon in 1933. He lived at Bend until 1941, at Redmond from 1941 to 1947, at Albany from 1947 to 1953, and at Prineville from 1953 until the time of his death. In semi-retirement he had served as a Watkins Products representative. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by his wife, Daisy; two daughters, Mrs. Fred Hudspeth (Margaret Hudspeth) and Mrs. Les Schwab (Dorothy)."
