She later married William Thornton who adopted my Uncle Chuck and gave him his last name of "Thornton".
He married my Aunt Helen DUTY, daughter of Hattie SIMMONS Duty and Ernest Samuel Duty on March 13, 1950.
Their marriage was blessed with one son named Chuck, Jr.
Uncle Chuck was a career salesman and had served in the Coast Guard.
He had been ill for quite some time before he succumbed to emphysema.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His many survivors included his wife, Helen, four sons from a first marriage, his son, Chuck, Jr., and his step-daughter, Linda.
He was much loved and will be greatly missed by all.
