Winifred was born to Rufus Lewis and Edna Davis Lewis in Des Moines, IA and graduated from Des Moines Tech High School in the printing area. She worked over 42 years in the grocery business, stayed at home to raise her children and also worked as a carpet layer. She was a member of the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Ladies Hospital Auxilary and Provost Guard Ladies. Winnie enjoyed her plants, collecting wind chimes, and going to the casino in Hinkley, Minnesota with friends.

Winnie is survived by her long time loving companion Jim Wheeler of Des Moines, her children, Raymond (Karla) Haynes of Urbandale, Cauline (Rick) Belluchi of Camden, MO, Sharon (Rick) Gienau of Redfield, Daryl (Darla) Haynes of Dallas Center, Everette (Lisa) Haynes of Maxwell; 14 grandchildren;9 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Mitchell of Casper,WY; and a host of of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband George Roy Haynes (divorced)and her sister Kathleen Godwin and 2nd husband Mike McDonough.
