Mr. N. W. Dowd, who has been suffering from paralysis for several years, died at the home of his son early Friday night.
He was born in Athens county, Ohio, in 1833; emigrated to Iowa when a young man and married Miss Laura Mathena, in which state they lived until 1886, when with his wife and children, he moved to Nebraska, making that state his home for many years.
He leaves seven children to mourn his death. Two sons are in California, three in Iowa, one daughter in Illinois,and one son in this city with whom he has resided for the past two years.
He was an ernest Christian and a member of the Free Methodist Church.
The funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, Rev. C. O. Groves and Rev. Gates officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Fogartyville Cemetery.
