Olive Kuziak was known as "Rickie" to all her friends and relations who loved her dearly. She died very suddenly at UPMC Sewickley Hospital after being taken to the Emergency Department with abdominal pains and shortness of breath. Unknown to her family and friends, these pains had been at times quite severe. She went into cardiac arrest on the elevator on the way to Critical Care and never regained consciousness. It was later revealed that her intestines had perferated and sepsis had set in causing cardiac arrest. She was just 61 years old and hadn't been to a doctor in over 20 years. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was known for her crafting, which she was planning on volunteering to teach at the Mooncrest Community Center to senior citizens. Her husband of 37 years, Dennis Kuziak died April 19th, 2005, at age 65 of lung cancer. She had his remains cremated and when Olive passed away, she was cremated and both urns were buried together on the same day in St. Joseph cemetery in Moon Township, within walking distance of her home. She is survived by her son Dennis Kuziak and his partner James Grice, another son Charles and his wife Kelly and their children, Olive's grandchildren whom she loved very much, Marissa and Alex. all of Moon Township. Dennis and James resided just 2 homes away from Olive, who James affectionately called "Iola" because of her crafting after Iola Boylen on the TV show "Mama's Family".
