Harvey Eugene Morgan Jr., 83, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Glenn A. Kiser
Hospice House.
Born in Rowan County on July 16, 1940, he was the son of the late Alice Lee Overcash Morgan and the late Harvey Eugene Morgan Sr.
He was a 1958 graduate of China Grove High School and was of the Pentecostal faith. He started his career with Brad Ragan Inc. where he was eventually promoted to be their General Manager of Salisbury Machinery Company. In 2005 he became the General Manager of IMS Fabrication and in May of 2019, he retired after 61 years
from his career.
Harvey was a generous and loving husband, father, and
grandfather. He adored his family and was a blessing to each of them. If you met him once, you became family. He had a servant's heart and it always brought him great joy to perform kind acts for others.
Harvey's work ethic was unsurpassed, and he was well respected by his peers. He traveled the world, and his business acquaintances always knew that if Harvey gave his word, no contract would be needed for their deals to come to fruition.
When he was not working, he could be found enjoying his passion for the outdoors and gardening. He followed in his father's footsteps with a talent for carpentry. He could fix or build anything.
Harvey will be remembered for the jewel that he was, and for his sense of humor, determination, and enormous heart. When God called him home, Harvey was ready with the dignity and strength he always exhibited. He will be missed dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Morgan, and brother Everett Ray Morgan.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elender Yates Morgan of 63 years, daughters Carolyn Barger (Jeff), Sheila Bost, Charlotte Morgan, grandchildren Stephanie Gallo (Brian), Savanna Athey, Cameron Wagoner, Alexis Wagoner, Ariel Burton, step-grandchildren Derrick Barger, Kara Whitten (Craig), great-grandchildren Oliver & Logan Gallo step- great-grandchild Mary Emerson Barger, brothers Henry Morgan, Riley Morgan, stepfather Fred Rash, Rick Wagoner, Jeff Smith, Brandon Cranfield, Tyler Corriher, lots of loving nieces and nephews and special friends.
The family would like to send a special Thank you to those who provided assistance and care.
