Moses served in the Co.F 123 Reg't NYSV. He enlisted on Aug 22, 1862 at 43?? for three years. He was actually closer to 62 from other data - see below. He was a harness maker and had 3 other children besides William listed below: Elizabeth born 1860, John born 1870 and Mary E born 1874. From the 1880 census, it is thought that his age of 70 was a bit too old based on the age of his wife and his age on his enlisted papers. However he had a brother b.1808 and all other sources and his gravestone indicate he was born in 1810. It is possible he gave a younger age at enlistment to to be considered a good candidate.
