America Jane Myrick, age 24, of Livingston County, Kentucky, daughter of James R. and Elizabeth Myrick, married 26 year old Charles Granderson the day after Christmas on Saturday, December 26, 1864 at Golconda, Pope County, Illinois. Golconda, is just across the Ohio River from Livingston County, Kentucky.
America Jane died of complications of childbirth on May 6, 1868 during the birth of her daughter Burnetta. They had two children:
1. William Lynwood Granderson, b. January 16, 1866, Caldwell County, Kentucky, d. September 14, 1937, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana
2. Brunetta T. Granderson, b. March 8, 1868, d. May 6, 1868, Kentucky
