America Jane died of complications of childbirth on May 6, 1868 during the birth of her daughter Burnetta. They had two children:
1. William Lynwood Granderson, b. January 16, 1866, Caldwell County, Kentucky, d. September 14, 1937, Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana
2. Brunetta T. Granderson, b. March 8, 1868, d. May 6, 1868, Kentucky
