Kim Sigler of Sioux Falls passed away on July 6th 2023. After a two year battle with cancer, he passed of natural health causes surrounded by family & friends. A formal Masonic ceremony open to friends & family will take place on Sunday July 23rd at 3pm at the El Riad Shine (510 S Phillips Ave. Sioux Falls, SD). Following the ceremony will be a celebration of life also hosted at the El Riad Shrine.

Kim was born on January 31, 1952 to his mother, Rosemary (Wilson) Sigler and father Eugene Sigler in Sioux Falls, SD. He attended Washington High School, graduating in 1970 with continued education at Augustana University, graduating in 1974 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Following his graduation he obtained the position of deputy sheriff with the Dickinson County sheriff department.

Kim was married to Gayle Annette (Hauger) on July 10th 1982 at the First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.

Shortly following their marriage, Kim started taking a more prominent role in the family business, Sigler Fire Co. After taking ownership in 1990, they grew their family, welcoming, Sara, Amber, & Brady. Kim continued his work with Sigler Fire Co. while Gayle worked at Citibank and devoted her time to raising the three kids.

Kim was an avid fisherman, hunter, and firearms enthusiast. He also enjoyed spending time out by the pool, taking family trips to the beaches in Florida, and tending to his '57 Chevy Bel Air. Kim was a highly involved member of the El Riad Shrine with involvement in various clubs within the organization. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge in addition to various social clubs.

He was a larger than life kind of person who would do anything for anyone, especially if it involved Coors Light or oysters on the half shell. He was a person who would have your back and support you through anything, whether you wanted him to or not. He was continually reading and learning about various subjects and could answer a question about anything, always coated in his personal opinions. He made a statement in every persons life he walked into, and will surely never be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife Gayle (Hauger) Sigler; his children, Sara Sigler-Fiegen and husband Nick of Sioux Falls. Amber and her significant other, Joe Schnetter of Sioux Falls, and Brady Sigler of Sioux Falls. His is also survived by his two grandchildren, Waylynn & Huxley Fiegen, his brother Chad (Carol) of Blaine, MN. niece Miranda (Sigler) Volk & husband Nate Volk, and nephew Zach Sigler. And of course his 4 pet cats Josie, Clyde, Bullet, and Trooper.

He proceeded in death by his parents, Gene & Rosemary, and his sister Camie.

The family requests memorials sent to the El Riad Shrine Building or Transportation Funds.

The Sigler family thanks you for your support & presence today. Please join them at the El Riad Shrine for a celebration of life following the ceremony.
