Professional Football Player. The National Football League (NFL) saw him play for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1959. He wasn't drafted but signed up as a free agent, and played in eleven games, starting four. After the Eagles let him go, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers but didn't play a single game. He left the 49ers on August 1, 1961, hoping to become a commercial pilot. However, he returned to football in 1962, this time joining the Canadian Football League (CFL) and playing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was later traded to the Montreal Alouettes in 1963, but asked to be released and retired from football instead. For the next 30 years, he worked as a commercial pilot with Delta Airlines and retired at the age of 60.
