Martha Armstrong Cooper, 95, of Kingsport, TN, passed away July 26, 2023 at her home.
She was born to the late Darak B. and Ruth Burkhart Armstrong on Feb. 27, 1928 in Knoxville, TN. She married the late Howard W. Cooper, Jr. in 1949 in Knoxville. They moved to Kingsport in 1951.

Martha was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and brothers Dan and Lynn Armstrong, her sons John D. Cooper and Jeffrey Cooper, and her granddaughter Aja Cooper.

Martha was a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. In her younger years she served as Brownie leader, Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher. She worked at Belks.

Martha is survived by three children: Jan Asher (Glenn), Tom Cooper, and Kim Treadway (Scott). She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandson

Martha will be missed and remembered for her kindness, compassion, faith and love for all.

The family will receive friends at East Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday August 3 between the hours of 12 noon and 1 p.m. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hamlett- Dobson Memorial Park, formerly known as East Tennessee Memory Gardens
