Janet M. Bowman, 80, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, in Littleton, Colorado.
She was born on December 1, 1942, in Peoria, to Martin and Roberta Glover.
After graduating from Illinois State University Jan's career was in insurance working for State Farm, Swank Agency, Country Companies and others. Jan moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado, in 1996 and worked at the Aurora Public Library until her retirement.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands; one son and his wife and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her sweet cat, Maggie, her constant companion who she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jan was an avid cat lover, rescuing many cats and kittens and she had a genuine heart for animals of all kinds. She was even known as "Grandma Kitty" by some of her grandchildren.
Private services and interment will be at East Lawn Memorial at a later date.
To honor her generous wish, the gift of life was shared with others through organ and tissue donation. Memorial donations may be made to the Evergreen Animal Protection League.
