Bonnita "Bonnie" Lee Beckett

peacefully passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at her home. Bonnie was born November 1, 1942 in Smith's Creek, MI, the daughter of Angus and Merle (Rich) McLeod and lived in the Bloomingdale area since 2002. Bonnie spent her childhood in Deckerville, MI and was a graduate of Marysville High School. She attended nursing school in South Baltimore, MD. She worked in various hospitals in Chicago and nursing homes in Southwest Michigan. She was a member of the Bloomingdale Christian Church and a faithful servant of God. Bonnie enjoyed camping and gardening alongside her late husband and going South for the winters, mostly in Alabama. She made friends wherever she went. She had a strong independent spirit and a witty sense of humor. Never without a furry companion, she loved her dogs well.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert "Bob" Beckett, whom she married on March 12, 1966.
Surviving are her 3 sons, Kevin, Michael (Leslie), Nathaniel "Scott" (Jennifer) Beckett; 7 grandchildren, Joy, Hope, Aries, Ethan, Angus, Connor and Elizabeth; twin brothers, Duane (Teresa) and Wayne (Sally) McLeod; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will meet friends 4-7 PM Friday, August 4 at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home where the funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday with Pastor Brett Champion officiating. Private interment for the family will follow in Robinson Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Samaritan's Purse.
