Lela Jane died shortly after the birth of their second child June 26, 1930 and was buried at Fort Sill Post Cemetery, Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma.

Cordie Lee Sr, serving in the Army could not take care of his two infant daughters, so he took them to his parents home and Robert Henry and Mary Jane helped raise these motherless children off and on for about 6 years.

Cordie Lee Sr would remarry to Delcie Merle Pack on Apr 30, 1938 in Van Buren, Arkansas and together they had four children. Cordie brought Juanita and Irelene home to live with his new wife, their new mother.

The families all moved back to Exeter, California the spring of 1954. In the late 1960's Cordie suffered a heart attach and he returned to the hills of Arkansas. Cordie said if he was going to die he wanted to die in those hills.

He lived a full life and left behind a wonderful large family. Many of his Great Grandchildren he would never see, many living in Texas as well as California.

He lived for years in a cabin, up on the hill in Arkansas, hunting and enjoying his life.

Cordie Lee Sr died in Russellville and was buried at the Nogo Cemetery, Nogo, Pope County, Arkansas 7 May 1980.

His smiles, the twinkle in his eyes, and his stories live on with his family and friends, and is missed deeply.
