ORMISTON, Grant Charles - Of Flint Township, age 82, died Monday, November 22, 1999 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Robert L. Dickie, II officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Lung Association or Genesys Hospice. Visitation 2-4 and 6-9PM Tuesday at the funeral home.


Mr. Ormiston was born in Bay City, Michigan on July 1, 1917 and was a resident of the Flint area the past 60 years, coming from Lapeer. He married Mona on April 25, 1942 in Napoleon, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of the Linden Masonic Lodge 132, a life member of Linden Eastern Star No. 175, and was also a member of VFW Post #9610 in Lake Park, Florida. Mr. Ormiston was employed at Fisher Body I for 17 years, retiring in January, 1981.


Surviving are his wife, Mona; 4 daughters, Deborah Sieradzki and Nicholas of Flint, Brenda and husband Michael Shuck of Holly, Cynthia Stein of Davison, Colleen and husband Gregory Dixon of Flushing; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and dear friend, Laverne and wife Naomi Kottkamp.
