25 Nov 1987: Ira M. Baum, 78, of 608 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1987, in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra, where he had lived for the past 2 and 1/2 years. He was the husband of Miriam Lingle Baum. Born in Londonderry Twp., Dauphin Co., to the late Harry K. and Anna McCurdy Baum. He had been a plumber for 50 years, and owned and operated a plumbing business in Palmyra for 40. He was the past president of the Gravel Hill Cemetery Association and a member of the Greater Harrisburg Credit Bureau, and the Citizens Fire Co., of Palmyra. Surviving in addition to his wife are; a son, Jay L. Baum, of Palmyra; a daughter, Carol, wife of Roy M. Meyer, of Annville RD 1; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wilhelm, of Heightsville, Md.; and brothers, Warren Baum, of Harrisburg; Harry Baum and Truman Baum, both of Middletown; Ernest Baum, of Hummelstown; and George Baum, of Elizabethtown RD.
