Rohde Funeral Home Burial Tuesday August 8 2023****Edward Michael Castellini passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023 surrounded by his family and fulfilled in the Sacraments of the Church. Ed was looked up to, respected and loved by his adoring wife and best friend of 56 years, Janet Dooley Castellini; children Alice Andrée Castellini (Janine), Annah McDowell (Christopher), Gabrielle Guercci (Kain), Cahira Zobrist (Kurt), Olivia Roscoe (Andy), Grace Graham (Mark) and Edward B. Castellini (Lauren). As "Pop," he was adored and enjoyed by his 15 grandchildren: Jack, Daniel and Margaret McDowell, Luca Guercci, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Josephine and Madeline Zobrist, Sophia Hope Roscoe, Aidan and Cormac Graham, Baret, Nora, Edward and Catherine Castellini. He was the son of Albert D. and Jane B. Castellini and brother to Richard A., Thomas W., Ann Kromer and Daniel J. Castellini. He has many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ed was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, University of Notre Dame and Xavier University. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, Engineer Corps. Ed was Vice President of Castellini Company for over 50 years. He served on many community, church and educational boards. Ed was an avid hiker and world traveler. He enjoyed wood working, cooking and participating and supporting his children and grandchildren's sports teams, theater productions and musical concerts. Ed had a passion for tinkering and fixing anything. Known for his sense of humor, extreme kindness and empathy, he touched many lives. Eddie never met a person that didn't become a friend. He was loved and will be missed by so many. He was a champion of the goodness in everyone.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home at 3183 Linwood Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45208. Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of a life well lived will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at St. Mary Church Hyde Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Cancer Care Research, fundraiser.givesmart.com or the charitable works of Ursulines of Brown County, ursulinesofbc.org.
