Gro Kittleson immigrated to the US with her mother Guro (a widow), brother Gjermond and sister Bergit "Betsey".She married Ole Evenson at Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Gro and Ole had eleven children - only 6 lived - they were Galena, Charles, Oscar & Gina (twins), Theodore and Christine.
Gro died at age 39. The girls had to take over the housekeeping duties and all became wonderful housekeepers and cooks. The children learned to read by the older ones teaching the younger.
