Born November 13, 1926 in Shelby to Cecil and Frances (Waghorn) Lybarger, he had been a lifelong Shelby resident.
Survivors include his wife, Vada M. (Jones) Lybarger, whom he married March 29, 1963; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kimberly Lybarger of Shelby and Rick and Joanna Lybarger of Norfolk, Va.; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Mike Potter of Shelby; ten grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Barbara Gwirtz of Shelby.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Shepherd, Madeline Shepherd, and Betty Kulka; two brothers, Fred Lybarger and Bobby Lybarger.
