LAKE PRESTON — Alford "Ted" Rich, 81, Lake Preston died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in a care center at Lake Preston.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 7 in the United Church of Christ at Lake Preston with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.

Burial will be in the Lake Preston Cemetery.

Visitation in the Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel at Lake Preston.

Alford "Ted" Rich was born July 17, 1926, in Lake Preston to Louis and Ora Lee (Rewey) Rich. After completion of high school, he joined the U.S. Navy.

He married Joan Koch Oct. 21, 1947, in Mankato, Minn.

He lived and worked in the Lake Preston area most of his life.

His outgoing personality along with his love for hunting, fishing and flying allowed those around him to share in many memorable experiences.

Survivors include his wife, Joan; his daughters, Colleen (Steve) Ryan of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Mary (Reed) Hauck of Lake Preston; one son, Curtiss (Teresa) of Rapid City; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
