Marjorie Ann Paugh, 99, of Jane Lew went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew, WV. She was born in Clearfield, PA on September 2, 1923: daughter of the late Floyd McAtee and Dora (Voss) McAtee. On November 8th, 1946, she married William B. Paugh, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 20th, 1982.
Cherishing Marjorie's memory is her son: James Paugh of Stockbridge, GA. six grandchildren: James M. Paugh, Jessica Paugh, Christopher Dohm, Angela Mitchell, Melissa Collins and Karen Dennison, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her feline friends: Tom and Chi Chi. In addition to her parents and husband, William, Marjorie was preceded in by one daughter: Cheryl Paugh, one son: William Paugh, Jr., one brother: James McAtee and one sister: Betty Kelley.
After high school graduation, Mrs. Paugh went and graduated from nursing school where she became a registered nurse. Marjorie enlisted in the United States Army, served during World War II serving in Okinawa, Japan and received the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Afterwards Marjorie was active in many military organizations. She was a lifetime member of the DAV, Lifetime member of the AVETS (American Veterans of WW II), Lifetime member of the VFW, Lifetime member of the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW and charter member of the Women's Memorial of Washington, DC. She also was a volunteer at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg for over 50 years.
Marjorie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Weston where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of the Lewis County CEOS. She enjoyed playing BINGO at the Jane Lew Senior Center for several years. Marjorie will be missed by family and her many friends she has made from West Virginia and several surrounding states.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Thursday, August 17th, 2023 for fellowship time from 11 am until 1 pm where a Celebration of Life service will be held with Rev. Fr. Douglas A. Ondeck as celebrant. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. Full military honors will be b provided by the United States Army and Lewis County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to you veteran's organization or your favorite charity.
