Luke Edward Baca passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2023 at the age of 14, after a long battle against Neuroblastoma cancer. Luke was born to parents, Jason and Janelle Baca, on October 7, 2008, in San Antonio, TX. Luke is survived by his loving parents; twin sister, Leia; grandparents, Susan Baca of Bay City, TX, and John and Rhonda Myers of Martinsburg, WV; great grandparents, Mannie and Doris Griffith of Martinsburg, WV; Uncle Steven, Aunt Lori, and cousin, Justin Baca; and Uncle Chris, Aunt Meghan, and cousin, Lincoln Myers; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Luke attended Christian Evers Elementary School where he participated in Lego Robotics, Drama Club, Gifted and Talented, Safety Patrol, Cardboard Arcade, and made many good friends and supportive teachers. He attended Jack C. Jordan Middle School where he enjoyed playing percussion in the school band, being part of Innovative Thinkers and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) class. Luke had a passion for collecting, and enjoyed acquiring unique Funko Pop, Pokemon, and Nerf gun collections. He enjoyed going to swap meets, collectible and thrift stores to find "treasures". There was rarely a day he went without some type of french fries. To pass the time in the hospital and at home, Luke built numerous LEGO sets. Luke loved animals, and dreamt of being a Herpetologist. His cats, Gypsy and Stormy, were his favorite companions, but he also kept turtles, fish, and leopard geckos.

Luke enjoyed watching TV series and movies, shopping on Amazon, fishing, and traveling. Luke's cancer diagnosis and side effects never stopped him from doing what he loved, like going on recent trips to FL, NY, MA, and WV. Camp Discovery, a camp for children affected by cancer, was a highlight for Luke each summer. Luke was the 100,000th Disney Make-a-Wish kid, which included a memorable trip to Disneyland that the family will never forget.

The family invites you to the visitation and viewing, as well as Luke's Celebration of Life. In honor of Luke's favorite color, please wear yellow to his Celebration of Life.
