Charles Edward Booker was the son of Nicholas Booker and Sally Grover Booker. He was first married December 31, 1853 to Margaret Jane Graham and had two children: Mary Jane Booker born October 1854 in Telfair Co, GA and a child who was two days old at death in January 1858. Margaret Graham Booker also died in January 1858 in Montgomery Co, GA. Charles then married Sarah M. Gragson and they had ten children: Josephine, Ida, Georgia Burton, Sarah Clementine, Fannie, Lucy Elizabeth, Laura Mehitable, Willie Tillman, Andrew Jackson and Charlie Gay (female).
