Esther Roeschlaub Bitzer, 96, of North Syracuse, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at James Square. She was born on March 24, 1918, the seventh child to George and Katherine Roeschlaub, in Syracuse. She was predeceased by her parents, and her sisters, Ruth, Elsie, Hilda, Marie, Irene and her brother, Robert. Esther was a graduate of Eastwood High School, the Syracuse Normal School and Syracuse University. She taught Kindergarten in the Syracuse City School System for many years. Retiring from Lincoln Elementary School at the time of the school closing. She was a member of the Pitcher Hill Community Church and its Wednesday Group. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Pitcher Hill Community Church, 605 Bailey Road, North Syracuse. Friends will be received at the church following the service. Contributions may be made to Pitcher Hill Community Church.
