Savannah Evening Press Monday 13 Dec 1948: H. P. ANDERSON' S FUNERAL AT MILLEN - MILLEN, Ga., Dec. 13. Funeral services for Habersham Powell Anderson, 70, hotel operator of Millen and formerly of Savannah and Savannah Beach, who died in a local hospital Saturday after a brief illness, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Millen Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Elliott Means. Burial will follow in Middleground Cemetery in Screven county. Pallbearers will be W. H. Sheppard, J. F. Stephens, Stanley Hatcher, Barney Lightfoot, Walter Harrison, O. P. Long, Milton Carlton, and Sid Newton. The body will be at the Fletcher Funeral Home until the hour of service. Operator of the Hotel Estill at Millen at intervals during the past 16 years, Mr. Anderson had previously operated hotels in Savannah and Savannah Beach. His survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard Talt, Los Angeles, Cal.; two brothers, A. S. Anderson, Millen, and Robert Anderson, Tarrytown; one sister, Mrs. Rena Jackson, Atlanta; a grandson and several nieces and nephews.
