Otto (Joe) Aubrey, 82, of Modesto, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Passavant hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born Jan. 18, 1900, at Loami, son of William and Cora Hewitt Aubrey. He was one of eleven children.
He married Etta Lythel and she preceded him in death in May 1964. He then married Pauline Madison of Modesto, July 17, 1965 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Betty Stults and Juanita Stults, both of Modesto, and one stepdaughter, Janet Dunn of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. G. G. Roderick of Springfield; one brother, Mike Aubrey of Chatham; several nieces and nephews.
He was a custodian at Waverly Schools for 32 years and was also employed at Wemple State Bank in Waverly for several years. He was a 50 year member of the K.C. Lodge in Waverly and a member of the Modesto Christian church, and had been a member of the Knights of Pythias for 62 years.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly. Rev. Mark Weber officiated; Lucille Williams was the organist. Interment was in Waverly cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Steven, Richard, Bryan and Nick Stults, Mark Dunn and Dave Stewart.
