Dr. Abbott was born in Macon County MO. He graduated from the State Normal, Kirksville, and studied medicine at American Medical College. Began practice in Mercyville MO 1875. Married Mrs Laura Gates Gilbreath 24 Feb 1882 who died in 1914. Practiced in Atlanta MO and was president of Macon Bank. To Monte Vista CO where he founded 1st National Bank in 1911, entered Abbott-Gooding Drug Company and was Mayor 1907-8. Leaves mother aged 98, four brothers and two sisters and a stepson.
