Dr. A. Caroline Cox, 97, a retired physician and mother of Mrs. D. H. Nicholson of Sandston, died Wednesday at a local nursing home.
Dr. Cox, widow of Oscar F. Cox, was graduated from the Tufts Medical School in Boston in 1906. She practiced medicine in the Boston area for 14 years.
She moved to Sandston from Boston in 1947.
Besides Mrs. Nicholson, she is survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday at Woody Funeral Home with private burial in Boston.
